Miriam Renault's only goal in life is to achieve the position of Vice Master of the Guild of Mirrors, and Master MacRory is finally dangling it in front of her. The promotion is hers for the taking—as long as she can convince weather mage Alexander Hayden to leave his insignificant little guild and join the Guild of Mirrors. Despite being more than a bit upset that her long-awaited promotion is tied to someone else's life choices, Miriam sets out to recruit Alexander. After all, it's not like anyone else in the world is clamoring to hand her a vice-mastership of a guild as old and prestigious as MacRory's. Demon mages aren't usually seen as the trustworthy type; she'll do what she has to do.
